Naval & Maritime Academy conducts her Inaugural Alumni Association

The Naval & Maritime Academy takes pride in informing the first-ever Alumni Association on the 15th July 2023, marking a memorable day in the history of the Academy, NMA celebrated her 56th anniversary. The overarching aim of establishing an Alumni Association at NMA is to create a platform to bring alumni together in assisting the academy and connecting them with current trainees. Currently, the academy has been accredited to the Kotelawala Defence University and trainees are pursuing their studies in both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the disciplines of Maritime Warfare, Logistics Management and Defence Management.

The Commandant NMA, Commodore Buddhika Liyanagamage, Training Captain and all the officers presently performing duties at NMA participated in this occasion. The proceedings were followed by the appointment of the Alumni Office Bearers and the Commandant Commodore Buddhika Liyanagamage was elected as the first president of the Alumni Association. Further discussions were progressed for activation of membership, means to coordinate with intakes, a possible date for the Annual General Meeting and revision of the draft constitution.
