The ceremony was graced by <strong><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Rear Admiral Rohan Joseph, the Commandant, Naval and Maritime Academy<\/span><\/strong>, as the Chief Guest, marking a milestone in commitment of MMTS to excellence in maritime education.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">MMTS <\/span><\/strong>was established on <strong><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">15<sup>th<\/sup> August 2011<\/span><\/strong> at NMA, recognizing its pivotal role in shaping skilled seafarers. Since its inception, MMTS has been a cornerstone in providing <strong><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">foundational training for officers and sailors<\/span><\/strong>, ensuring their safety and preparedness at sea. Annually, the institute conducts ten (<strong><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">10) courses in \u2018<\/span><\/strong>Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping\u2019 (<strong><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">STCW) <\/span><\/strong>and two (<strong><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">02) courses in \u2018Boat Master Grade-1\u2019.<\/span><\/strong><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The establishment of the <strong><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Model Room<\/span><\/strong> was a long-standing requirement for MMTS, serving as a key component in improving <strong><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">both practical and theoretical learning<\/span><\/strong> for trainees.
