The course aimed to equip participants with comprehensive theoretical knowledge and practical skills that are essential for hydrographic survey duties in Sri Lankan waters. Through a blend of classroom sessions and limited hands-on training exercises, sailors delved into areas such as Hydrographic Control, Hydrographic Practice, Tide and Oceanography, Meteorology, and Database Management.<\/p><p>As the course concluded, the fifteen sailors emerged as proficient and confident survey recorders, ready to serve professionally in the Sri Lanka Navy Hydrographic Service (SLNHS). Course participants will be temporarily attached to SLNHS on 12<sup>th<\/sup> March 2025 on completion of their academic phase to follow a four-week field practical phase. Sailor Under Trainees of Phase II Survey Recorder \u201cQ\u201d course 01\/2024, who have successfully completed the course, henceforth will be officially considered as Survey Recorders, having intermediate \u2013 level professional hydrographic knowledge.<\/p><p>The Officer-in-Charge of the Hydrographic Survey School, LCdr (H) KGTM Jayatissa, Chief Instructor, PO (SR II) SYRP Gunawardhana and other instructors participated in the
