Sixteen junior sailors embarked on an intensive journey through the Physical Training (PT) Phase III Qualifying Course, an essential training component at the Naval and Maritime Academy (NMA). Spanning 27 weeks, this course was meticulously designed to develop both the physical conditioning and instructing abilities needed to become skilled Physical Training Instructors (PTIs) within the Sri Lanka Navy.<\/p>

The PT Phase III course combined rigorous physical drills with academic and practical sessions, creating a comprehensive training experience. The course participants were trained across various modules, including physical conditioning, strength training, injury prevention, instructional techniques, and sports coaching. The aim of the programme was to prepare these sailors to lead physical fitness activities, enhance the resilience and discipline of naval personnel, and maintain a high standard of fitness throughout their naval career.<\/span><\/p>

Throughout the course, the sailors received instructions from experienced PTIs and senior instructors, engaging in hands-on practice, classroom learning, and real-time coaching exercises. Each participant was challenged to improve their physical fitness while developing the leadership and communication skills which are necessary for instructing others.<\/span><\/p>

Upon completion of the programme, the sixteen sailors emerged as qualified Physical Training Instructors, equipped to promote fitness, well-being, and discipline across the Sri Lanka Navy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

OD EMDD Ekanayaka XH 122528 became the Best Overall Performer for exemplary achievement across both practical and theoretical modules, displaying remarkable endurance and leadership qualities. At the closing ceremony, each participant was presented with a course certificate, marking their achievement and dedication to physical fitness excellence.<\/span><\/p>

The ceremony was attended by the instructors of the Physical Training School.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
