The ceremony was graced by the Commandant, Naval and Maritime Academy, Commodore Rohan Joseph as the Chief Guest.<\/p><p><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit; color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5);\">The Courses commenced on 26<\/span><sup style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit; color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5);\">th <\/sup><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit; color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5);\">September 2024 with the participation of an officer and 39 sailors. Further, all the course participants were awarded with certificates for STCW Basic Safety modules on successful completion of the particular course.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit; color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5);\">The objective of this course is to provide theoretical and practical knowledge as well as the training required to obtain the Continuous Discharge Certificate (CDC) from the Merchant Shipping Secretariat. The course enhances the competencies of the participants to carryout duties onboard Merchant Ships in a professional manner. The course is conducted in accordance with the directives of the Merchant Shipping Secretariat and the STCW Convention.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit; color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5);\">All instructors of the Merchant Marine Training School and lecturers who conducted the respective modules under to provided qualitative training for the course participants with the vision of producing skilled seafarers to the field of Merchant Shipping. This course steers the future aspirations of naval personnel who wish to retire from the Sri Lanka Navy in the future.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section
