The ceremony was graced by the Commandant, Naval and Maritime Academy, Commodore Rohan Joseph as the Chief Guest.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5); color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">STCW Basic Safety Course no. 04-2024(S) was commenced on 20<sup>th<\/sup> May 2024 with the participation of 20 sailors. Further all the course participants were awarded the certificates for STCW Basic Safety modules on successful completion of the particular course.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5); color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">The objective of this course is to provide theoretical and practical knowledge as well as the training which required to obtain the Continuous Discharge Certificate (CDC) from Merchant Shipping Secretariat. The course enhances the competencies of the participants to carryout the duties onboard Merchant Ships in a very successful and effective manner. The course is conducted in accordance with the directives of the Merchant Shipping Secretariat and the International Maritime Organization\u2019s Constitution.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5); color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">All instructors of the Merchant Marine Training School and lecturers conducted the respective modules under the profound supervision of the Commandant, Naval &amp; Maritime Academy, to provide qualitative training for the course participants with the broad vision of producing suitable and skilled seafarers to the field of Merchant Shipping. This course steers the future aspirations of naval personnel who wish to retire from the Sri Lanka Navy in future and turning their careers into a new dimension.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<div><\/div><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section
