Maritime Leadership Exercise (MARLEX) for forty four (44) Officer Under Trainees (OUTs). OUTs was conducted by the Officer Training Wing (OTW) on 06th and 07th<\/sup> April 2023 at Trincomalee harbour. This two-day exercise was designed by the OTW to develop leadership skills and decision making ability of OUTs in order to mould them as future leaders and sound decision makers in their future assignments.<\/p>

OUTs from following intakes attended for the exercise. \u00a0<\/p>

  1. 35th Intake KDU – 01<\/li>
  2. 36th Intake KDU – 22<\/li>
  3. 38th Intake KDU – 21<\/li><\/ol>

    MARLEX capsule consist of four main operations, namely, barrier patrol exercise \u2018Waruna Kirana\u2019, Cordon and search exercise at York Island \u2018York Siege\u2019, anti- human smuggling exercise \u2018Freedom\u2019 and search and rescue exercise \u2018Carpathia\u2019. On completion of first day of the exercise, OUTs stayed at York Island to gain the experience of survival and harbouring.<\/p>

    OUTs were divided into two (02) syndicates and all were given equal opportunity to attend series of exercises, briefing and de-briefing in order to develop their decision making and leadership abilities. Situations were created in each exercises by the OPS room, further OTW staff simulated real-time situations in exercise areas.<\/p>

    The inaugural briefing of MARLEX was graced by the Training Captain on 06th<\/sup> April 2023 and the exercises was successfully completed on 07th<\/sup> April 2023 after debriefing and the closing remarks by Officer Training Officer.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
