About us
Merchant Marine Training school (MMTS) at Naval and Maritime Academy was established on 15th August 2011, with the aim of qualifying sailors by imparting theoretical knowledge and practical training on basic safety courses that are required for obtaining “Continuous Discharge Certificate” to perform duties on-board merchant ships in a most efficient and effective manner as per STCW requirements and International Maritime Organization (IMO) standards.
Policy
To produce competent seafarers for merchant ships by imparting theoretical knowledge and practical training as per the directives given by standards of training, certification and watch keeping for seafarers (STCW) code and enable them to undertake duties on board merchant vessels in most effective and competent manner.

To become an internationally recognized maritime training institution by producing highly competent seafarers to serve onboard merchant ship.
