3rd EBL; Admiral Tisara Samarasinghe delivers a lecture on “Naval Diplomacy”

Third Experienced Based Lecture (EBL) was held with a high key note on 06th November 2022 under the guidance and supervision of the Commandant Naval & Maritime Academy, Commodre Damian Fernando. The lecture was conducted under the topic of “Naval Deplomacy” by Admiral Tisara Samarasinghe RSP, VSV, USP, ndc, psc, DBA at the Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda Auditorium with the participation of naval personnel from the ships and establishments in the Eastern Naval Area.

Admiral Tisara Samarasinghe RSP, VSV, USP, ndc, psc, DBA was the 16th Commander of the Navy and currently serves as the senior consultant of CINEC campus. Also currently serving as an expert consultant of Sichuan Institute of Quality Development Think Tank in China.  As a diplomat, he was appointed as Sri Lanka’s 21st High Commissioner to Australia. Further, his key achievements were the change of the Australian Government that led Australia to withdraw from co- sponsoring the Human Right Commission resolution against Sri Lanka in Geneva in 2013/14.

The lecture was conducted with the gracious presence of the Deputy Chief of Staff and the Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Jayantha Kularathna RSP*, USP, psc and Commandant Naval & Maritime Academy. HODs, Commanding Officers of ships and establishments, Officer Under Trainees and Senior Sailors also attended on this occasion. Admiral Tisara Samarasinghe RSP, VSV, USP, ndc, psc, DBA pointed out the way of performing duties as diplomat while promoting the Naval integrity.
