MMTS successfully completes basic safety courses and maritime english (support level)  course 03/ 2022 and  04/ 2022

Certificate awarding ceremony of STCW – Basic Safety Courses and Maritime English (Support Level) course 03 and 04 / 2022 was held at the Merchant Marine Training School, Naval and Maritime Academy on 12th July 2022 to mark the termination of the course. The ceremony was honored by the Training Captain, Naval & Maritime Academy.

STCW – Basic Safety Courses and Maritime English (Support Level) course 03 and 04/2022 commenced with 40 Sailor Under Trainees on 13th June 2022 and all trainees were awarded with the certificates on successfully completion of their training.

The purpose of this course is to impart theoretical and practical knowledge and the training required for the Continues Discharge Certificate Course to carry out the duties of merchant ships in a very successful and effective manner in accordance with the directives of the Director General of Merchant Shipping and in accordance with the Constitution of the International Maritime Organization.

All instructors of the Merchant Marine Training School and lecturers under the inventive supervision of the Commandant, Naval & Maritime Academy, sought to transform the trained sailors with a policy vision of producing suitable, skilled sailors for merchant ships.

This course will take the future expectations of sailors who are to be retired after completion of remarkable service in the Sri Lanka Navy a period of almost 22 years and 12 years and are retiring from the Navy in the near future, to a new direction.
