Dr. Anuththaradevi Widyalankara is a senior lecturer of the Department of History in the University of Colombo. Dr. Widyalankara joined the Department of History in year 1999 as a Lecturer with a First Class Honours Degree and received Professor Tikiri Abeysinghe Memorial Award for the Best Student in History in that year.
She obtained her Masters in International Relations from the University of Uppsala in Sweden in the year 2003/ Dr. Widyalankara has two Doctorates one from the University of Kelaniya which she received in year 2006 and her thesis was on Social and Economic Condition of the Kandyan Kingdom as reflected through Secular Architecture.
Her second Doctorate received from the University of Leiden in Netherlands and the research was based on Dutch colonial Architecture for which she has done a lot of archival study both in Sri Lanka and in Hague-The Netherlands.
She has won many prestigious scholarships and fellowships including Fulbright Visitor Award in year 2008 and KU Leuven Specialization Award for South in year 2016.
Also she is an Attorney-at-Law. She has published many books and articles on her specialized area of Colonial Architecture and Cultural History.
