NBCD ADVANCED COURSE


Eligibility:

  • The rate of PO(ME) or CPO (ME) with fair knowledge in English. If the response is poor from PO (ME)’s and CPO (ME)’s, application could be called from LMEs those who have successfully completed PO(ME) ‘Q’ course at NMA.
  • Outcome:

  • The successful completion of NBCD advance course senior/junior sailors is eligible for professionally confident to perform duties as NBCD sailor/instructor on board ships.
  • Course Content:

  • Duration of the course will be 16 weeks and two courses every year as per the annual training calendar.

    Objectives:

  • To impart advanced knowledge in firefighting, damage control and NBCD to Sri Lanka Navy.
  • To produce skilled NBCD Instructors to Sri Lanka Navy.
  • Following subjects are covered during the course as per approved syllabus.
    • Fire fighting
    • Damage control
    • Nuclear, Biological and chemical Defence
    • English
    • Basic first aid
    • Divisional Administration
    • Project and presentation
    • Industrial visit
    Uniform:

  • All the uniform items provided by the Navy has to be taken during the training period by the under trainees. In addition sailors must take a long sleeve white shirt, black trouser, black belt and pair of civil black shoes along with their uniform items.
  • Accommodation:

  • A suitable accommodation is provided within the NMA premises.
