One-year seniority as a Leading rate sailor to the date of commencement of the course.
The successful completion of PO Q IT course makes Leading rate IT sailor eligible for their next (PO rate) advancement.
To acquire the leadership / administrative standards required for petty office in IT branch of Sri Lanka Navy.
To understand the IT equipment and system in use in Sri Lanka Navy and gain professional knowledge in their maintenance / repair.
To confident to impart knowledge, guide and train junior sailors in the performance of their technical duties.
All the uniform items provided by the Navy has to be taken during the training period by the under trainees. In addition to a white saree must be taken by the woman sailors and sailors must take a long sleeve white shirt, black trouser, black belt and pair of civil black shoes along with their uniform items.
A suitable accommodation is provided within the NMA premises.
