About us

Nautical School had been one of the prime schools during the past 36 years of history of the Naval and Maritime Academy and had contributed overwhelming support to mould officers and sailors for the Sri Lanka Navy. Later, it was divided into three separate schools with the aim of promoting training facilities. As a result, on 6th of May 2007 the Navigation school emerged.

The prime aim of the navigation school is to qualify both officers and sailors imparting sufficient theoretical knowledge and practical training on safe navigation at sea at various levels to perform their specified duties in the most efficient manner on naval ships and craft.

Navigation school performs a tremendous task in the Naval and Maritime Academy. It forges naval officers and sailors in the best possible way, as such it imparts sufficient theoretical knowledge and practical training that are needed in safe, efficient and competent navigation.
