Being the ISO certified professional institute, the Naval and Maritime Academy (NMA) commenced Long Logistics Management Course (LLMC) No. 6 on 15 Mar 21 with the aim of enhancing logistics professionalism among Naval logisticians and officers of other sister services. The LLMC No. 6 comprise with 16 Naval logistics officers inclusive one lady officer, officer from Sri Lanka Army and two officers from Sri Lanka Police Department. The inauguration ceremony of LLMC was held at Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda Main Auditorium, under the patronage of the Commandant NMA, Commodore HGU Dammika Kumara USP,psc
Warmly welcoming all the course participants, the commandant has emphasised the necessity of following the specialization courses in order to be successful in their professional military career. Furthermore, he stressed upon the implication of logistics and supply chain management in victory of any battlefield. At the same time, he noted, few world renowned battles and how logisticians aid to sustain in those battle fields to bring the positive results. Furthermore, in his speech he pointed out how modern industries utilize logistics in order to achieve core-competencies and fruitfully sustain in business.
Finally, the Commandant highlighted the value of fulfilling all the assigned tasks and the research study in this kind of specialization course as government spent large amount of public money. Therefore, commandant mentioned that he will intervene with student officers’ research works on due course. Lieutenant Commander(S) Nalin Wickramaarachchi psc, LLMC the Course Coordinator of LLMC also addressed the student officers on the same occasion. In view of setting a solid foundation to the course, he brought out the significance of following the course curriculum and encouraged all officers to complete the particular course attentively.
